HELP AVAILABLE
ENABLE-SOLIHULL can offer a range of services:
- an information centre providing guidance for disabled people, their carers and disability groups. We are able to signpost people to specialist advice and support services
- information on a wide range of care and support services is also available on Solihull Care Directory - an online resource directory that Solihull Care Trust asked us to put together
- wide consultation and influence within the disability sector from a user’s perspective. We are able to involve our members and volunteers in consultation in a variety of meaningful ways. Previously successful consultations have taken place with Solihull Council, Birmingham International Airport, The Highways Agency and the NEC Group
- we have our own electronic survey equipment, which can be utilised in a range of surveys and consultations. We are able to analyse this data and produce in-depth reports. We involve volunteers in this process wherever possible. We were recently commissioned to carry out surveys for Solihull LINks and Solihull Council
- raising disability access issues and other disability related issues, focusing on awareness and understanding of the issues, to facilitate positive change for disabled people
- involvement in the development of new services and products with the disabled customer in mind, providing constructive feedback and comment
- arranging training about disability
- offering volunteering opportunities for disabled and non disabled people. We were recently given a grant from Access to Volunteering to support disabled volunteers
